Science Behind It
Acoustic levitation is a nonlinear effect under high sound intensity conditions. Its basic principle is to use the interaction between acoustic standing waves and objects to generate vertical levitation force to overcome the weight of the object, while generating horizontal positioning force to fix the object at the sound pressure node Acoustic levitation technology is divided into two types: three-axis and single axis. The former excites a column of standing waves in three orthogonal directions in space to control the position of the object, while the latter only generates a column of standing waves in the vertical direction. Its levitation positioning force is provided by a certain mode of sound field excited by a cylindrical resonant cavity.

Acoustic levitation technology is one of the key technologies for achieving container free processing of materials under ground and space conditions. Compared with electromagnetic levitation technology, it is not limited by the conductivity of materials, and the levitation and heating are controlled separately. Therefore, it can be used to study container free solidification of non-metallic materials and low melting point alloys.

Description
Exhibitions are composed of organic glass tubes, exhibition stands, small balls, etc. Sound is transmitted in the form of waves. During the transmission of sound waves, when encountering obstacles such as small balls, an average forward pressure in the same direction as the sound propagation is generated on the ball, causing it to rise.
When sound waves are transmitted to the top of the pipe mouth, they are reflected, forming waves with the same amplitude, wavelength, and frequency but opposite directions. The two waves move towards each other and interfere with each other to produce a composite wave. The composite wave interacts with the ball, generating a vertical upward force that overcomes the ball's gravity and suspends it in the air.
