Museum Mega Science Center (MMSC), Batu, Indonesia
Museum Mega Science Center dan Budaya · Jatim Park 1 · East Java, Indonesia
At this large science-and-culture venue in East Java, we supplied more than 200 interactive exhibits — taking the project from drawings to the finished floor, from site installation through to opening day, and turning physics, mathematics, the cosmos, artificial intelligence, nature and culture into something visitors can see, play with, operate and learn from.
A museum that puts science, technology and culture under one roof
Museum Mega Science Center dan Budaya (MMSC) sits inside the Jatim Park 1 complex in Kota Batu, East Java, Indonesia. It is developed and operated by Jawa Timur Park Group (JTP Group), one of Indonesia’s best-known tourism and leisure companies.
The museum covers roughly 18,000 m² and is planned to house several hundred interactive science, technology and culture exhibits, making it a major science-and-culture destination in East Java. It opened in 2026.
Its concept comes down to two ideas. The first is Edutainment — education plus entertainment: nothing here is a look-don’t-touch display, and visitors operate the exhibits and feel the effect themselves. The second is Science + Technology + Culture in one: the museum covers the natural sciences — cosmos, physics, mathematics, biology, chemistry, technology, artificial intelligence, natural disasters — and weaves in Indonesia’s own Nusantara culture.
That positioning means the interactivity, reliability and thematic breadth of the exhibits decide the visitor experience — and the rate of return visits.
The museum as built: themed spaces and a high density of interactive exhibits
All photographs below were taken on site by our team during installation in August–September 2026 and around the opening — the large themed spaces and the dense rows of interactive exhibits speak for themselves. Design renderings for each zone are in “Zones we supplied” further down.
The photographs cover the children’s, mathematics, electromagnetism, mechanics, chemistry, aerospace, general science and natural-disaster zones; all exhibits are in live operation.
Supplying and installing 200+ interactive exhibits
On the MMSC project our company (Shanghai Inertia Automation Co., Ltd.) supplied more than 200 interactive exhibits and handled their on-site installation end to end, covering the mechanics, electromagnetism, mathematics, vibration and waves, optical illusion and children’s zones, among others.
Matching interactive exhibits to each zone’s theme, so that every square metre is saying something about science.
From structural parts and control systems to the interactive mechanisms, built to museum operating standards and delivered as complete sets.
From June 2026 our installation team worked on site for more than two months straight, installing, commissioning and test-running 200+ exhibits.
Working with the museum through final joint commissioning, right up to the day it opened to the public.
The exhibits have already served large numbers of visitors in daily operation; Indonesia’s Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Abdul Mu’ti, also visited and tried them, drawing further attention to the museum’s educational role.
Ten themed directions, from hard technology to cultural identity
MMSC is planned around ten themes covering the full spectrum of the visitor experience. Our supply covers several of the natural-science zones, with a particular concentration in physics, mathematics and children’s areas, where interaction is heaviest.
Celestial bodies, spaceflight, Earth and cosmic scales
Immersive scenes + interactive modelsMechanics, vibration and waves, light, sound, electromagnetism
Hands-on interactive exhibitsGeometry, topology, probability and logic
Game-based puzzle installationsThe human body, life phenomena, ecosystems
Model demonstration + interactive experienceChanges of matter and reaction principles
Visualised interactive installationsMachinery, transmission, automation
Operable mechanical installationsPerception, recognition, interaction
Intelligent interactive experienceEarthquakes, volcanoes, weather
Simulated experience + scenario educationCulture and traditional technological wisdom of the Indonesian archipelago
Immersive cultural displayCross-disciplinary integrated interaction
Free-exploration circulation
“You have to operate it to experience it” — scale and format
MMSC houses several hundred interactive exhibits. What they share is that the visitor must use their hands to complete the experience. A typical exhibit runs a closed loop:
That loop places far higher demands on the supplier than a static display panel ever did. It means an exhibit must:
- Withstand high-frequency use Durability under heavy visitor flow
- Respond intuitively, instant feedback Smoothness of the experience
- Run continuously for long hours Operating stability
The zones we supplied
The zones below are the core of our supply on this project; the renderings are named to match our own exhibit lines one to one.
Built around classical mechanics and kinematics, with exhibits that make force visible.
Electricity and magnetism in interaction, abstract principles presented as technology-styled installations.
Abstract mathematics turned into operable puzzle games, balancing fun with logical training.
Visualisation and hands-on interaction with sound waves and mechanical waves.
Optics and visual principles used to create the surprise that seeing is not always believing.
A safe interactive area for younger visitors — bright in colour, friendly in scale.

Whether you are building a museum overseas, contracting as EPC, or a cultural-technology company looking to expand internationally, we can put together a complete proposal covering theme positioning, exhibit configuration, manufacturing and delivery, and on-site installation.
Information on this page about the MMSC museum’s size, thematic direction and investment estimates is compiled from publicly reported figures and is provided for project-introduction purposes only; it does not constitute any commercial commitment. Investment scale is a preliminary estimate based on floor area, and the official figures are those published by JTP Group. The quantity we supplied (200+ units), our on-site installation period (on site from June 2026 for more than two months) and the museum’s opening status are facts confirmed by us as the supplier.
