Electron Beam Artificial Aurora - Customization of Science Museum Exhibitions, Campus Community Science Popularization Equipment, Source Manufacturer of Science Exhibitions Description and Introduction of Scientific Principles:

The horizontal glass tube in the exhibition items is in a vacuum environment. Pressing the start button will generate a simulated aurora inside the tube. Aurora is a brilliant and magnificent colored light image that appears at high latitudes and altitudes, appearing in the form of bands, arcs, curtains, or radiation. These shapes are sometimes stable and sometimes undergo continuous changes. The brightness of auroras is generally like a full moon, often with colors such as red and green. In the Northern Hemisphere, people always see the aurora from the northern sky, which is called the Northern Lights; The aurora seen in the southern hemisphere is called the aurora. The spectrum of auroras has many similarities with the spectra of gases discharged at extremely high voltages. Most modern scientists believe that auroras are formed by high-speed charged particles emitted by the sun, which are deflected towards the north and south poles by the Earth's magnetic field, causing excitation or ionization of molecules or atoms in the upper atmosphere. There are three conditions for the formation of auroras: atmosphere, magnetic field, and high-energy charged particles. These three are indispensable. Aurora not only appears on Earth, but also on other planets with magnetic fields within the solar system. The ionosphere in the aurora region can be seen as a screen for solar and geomagnetic activity, displaying many complex space physics phenomena. By observing the intensity, color, and distribution of auroras, parameters such as particle deposition and polar ionospheric heating can be quantitatively determined, which is crucial for predicting changes in the space environment. The common fluorescent and neon lights in daily life are also made using the principle of auroral light emission.
