Magnetic Damping - Customization of Science Museum Exhibitions, Campus Community Science Popularization Equipment, Source Manufacturer of Science Exhibitions Description and Introduction of Scientific Principles:
Operating instructions: Place circular rings of different materials at the top of the circular tube, then release them simultaneously to allow them to fall freely, and compare their speed of descent. Function Overview: The main body of the exhibition items consists of five transparent organic glass tubes, each of which is equipped with a permanent magnet inside. Each tube is covered with a ring outside, and the material, structure, and opening shape of these rings are different. Participants place different rings at the top of the circular tube and then release them at the same time. They will find that the falling speed of the rings is different. Scientific principle: When a metal ring falls, it cuts magnetic field lines, generates induced current, and generates a magnetic field around it. Due to the fact that the magnetic field of the induced current always obstructs the change in magnetic flux that causes the induced current, the metal ring slows down and falls under the combined effect of the two magnetic fields; The plastic ring does not generate induced current, so there is no damping and the descent speed is very fast.
