Exhibition Name
Electromagnetic accelerator
Science Behind It
The exhibition items consist of a ball motion track, an acceleration device, and a booth, simulating the basic principles of a particle accelerator. The audience presses the button to activate the exhibition items and observe the acceleration status of the ball in the track. On the circular closed guide rail, sensors are installed next to each coil. When the metal ball approaches the coil, the sensor detects the metal ball, and the coil immediately applies electricity to generate a magnetic field. The metal ball obtains power under the action of the magnetic field to accelerate its movement. Every time the metal ball passes through the coil, it is accelerated by the magnetic field force. As the metal ball continues to pass through the coil, its speed also increases.
