Science Behind It
When the human eye observes a scene, light signals are transmitted to the brain through the optic nerve to form vision. However, after the effect of light ends, the visual image in the brain does not immediately disappear, but stays for 0.1 to 0.4 seconds, which is the phenomenon of visual persistence in the human eye. When the disc rotates, small figures with different postures repeatedly appear, and one character image in the brain has not completely disappeared, and the next slightly different character image appears again. Multiple sets of images are superimposed in the brain, giving the illusion of coherent movements. At this point, when the flashing frequency of the flash matches the movement frequency of the character, the two merge and we see the frozen image of the character. In this way, under the joint action of "visual persistence" and flashing lights, one frozen image after another forms a coherent movement of the little person's movement. Movies and animated films are produced based on this principle. Look for it, what other exhibits next to it utilize the phenomenon of visual persistence?
