1. Scientific principles and presentation content

Scientific principle: Sound focusing refers to the phenomenon where a concave surface forms a concentrated reflection of sound waves, causing the reflected sound to focus on a certain area, resulting in a particularly loud sound in that area.

In daily life, when indoor sound sources produce sound, sound waves will reflect off walls, ceilings, and floors. Sound reflection follows the law of reflection, while when incident sound waves hit a concave surface of a reflector, the reflected sound will concentrate together, forming sound focusing, which is similar to light focusing. Sound gathering causes excessive concentration of sound energy, making the sound at the gathering point noisy, while the listening conditions in other areas deteriorate, expanding the unevenness of the sound field and seriously affecting the listening conditions of the audience.

Generally speaking, the dome will have a poor acoustic effect of fixed sound focusing when driving, and people standing under the dome will hear an unacceptable hole sound that is difficult to focus on, commonly known as "strange noise" by the public. Therefore, sound focusing as a sound defect needs to be avoided. Therefore, when decorating a music hall, it is important to avoid large concave walls to prevent sound focusing. Additionally, to avoid whistling, there should be a certain diffusion structure at the upper corner of the wall where the sound system is located, so that the sound does not focus in the wall.

Display content: Sound waves propagate like light waves, and can reflect back when encountering obstacles during propagation. Exhibitions use two identical Shanghai Inertia concave reflection devices to demonstrate the emission and convergence of sound waves. The small circular ring in front of the concave reflection device is the focal point of sound reflection.

2. Function description

The exhibition items consist of a parabolic device, seat, handle, earpiece, etc. The audience only needs to sit on the seat, place both ears on the earpiece, rotate the seat, or turn the handle at hand to adjust the direction of the "auricle" and listen to the surrounding sounds.

3. Form of expression

Model interaction

4. Operating instructions

(1) Sit on the seat and place both ears on the receiver;

Rotate the seat or turn the handle at hand to adjust the direction of the "earlobe" and listen for surrounding sounds.

5. Exhibition size (Shanghai Inertia standard finished product size, customizable)
