Upright Rope Science Museum Exhibitions Non standard Customization Source Manufacturer Shanghai Inertia

A rope can overcome gravity and stand up. A rope ring with a diameter of about 0.4CM is wound around a rotary motor, and the ends of this rope ring are connected without gaps. When we experience this exhibit, clicking the button will activate the rotary motor, and the pulley installed on the rotary motor will drive the rope ring to quickly transmit. A delicate balance is formed between the upward force of the motor and the weight of the rope ring itself, presenting an upright rope ring.

Newton's second law states that the magnitude of an object's acceleration is proportional to the force acting on it, inversely proportional to its mass, and the direction of acceleration is the same as the direction of the external force acting on it. Without any external force, if we give a single particle an initial force, it will undergo uniform acceleration in linear motion.

If we throw a mass object upwards with a certain amount of force, the object will move upwards for a period of time before falling again. If we consider every point on the rope as a single particle with mass, and the rotating motor throws the single particle upwards, under the influence of gravity, the direction of the external force is downwards, and the single particle can only move upwards for a certain distance before starting to fall. Countless single particles perform a repetitive upward uniform acceleration motion in the closed rope loop, and then move towards the ground under the action of gravity. In our eyes, continuous single particles become a rope loop that can maintain a certain height. With the same thickness of the rope, increasing the speed of the motor and the length of the rope loop will make this upright figure taller. When we touch the rope with our hands or other objects, it magically takes on many unexpected shapes. But the rope itself has tension, so soon it returned to its own figure on its own. When experiencing it, please note that the motor rotation has a direction, and we need to experience it from left to right to avoid tangling the rope.
