1. Content

The exhibition items mainly consist of brackets, two sets of drum barrels of different heights, and ceramic bead walls.

The exhibition items include a drum device and a wall with ceramic beads. There are two drum devices with a diameter of 400mm and completed heights of 1200mm and 900mm, respectively. The high drum has a large air outlet, with a circular hole with a diameter of 120mm in the center of the drum facing the wall, while the low drum has a smaller air outlet with a diameter of 80mm. There are many circular flashing beads hanging on the opposite wall, with the theme of monsters attacking the city and visitors bombarding them to defend the city.

Participants can rotate the drum to adjust the direction of the drum surface. When the audience hits the drum surface, a stream of air flows directly towards the wall, creating a sparkling metal ripple effect. Change the force of tapping the drum and observe whether the metal ripple effect becomes more pronounced and has a larger range as the force increases. You can also play with two people, standing behind two drums respectively, and compare who has the most noticeable ripple effect on the wall in front of them.

2. Principle

The barrel of the air cannon only has a small hole at the firing end, and the other parts are tightly fitted. When tapping the drum skin, the space inside the barrel instantly decreases, and the air inside is compressed, forming an accelerating airflow. The high-speed airflow is rapidly ejected from the small hole, while the original airflow around the small hole has a slower speed, so the high-speed airflow rolls backwards to form an "air circle". When the barrel is aimed at the soft silk, the high-speed jet of "air circle" makes the sparkling beads ripple and stand up.

3. Purpose

Through interactive experience, participants can understand the pressure of gases and the resonance phenomenon of objects through observed phenomena, and experience the joy of scientific exploration.
