The air cannon, ball, and pendulum device are placed on a straight track with an inclination angle of 4-5 degrees. Under the drive of compressed air, the air cannon can shoot small balls at three different distances in a flat shooting form, and the shooting distance can be selected by the participants. When the cannon is fired, it exerts a force on the shell. As the shell moves forward, the opposite reaction force of the same magnitude will cause the cannon body to move backward. When the cannon body retreats, it will hit the pendulum located behind it. The amplitude of the pendulum swing can display the magnitude of the reaction force acting on the cannon body.
