1. Content:

This exhibition item is a device resembling a flute, consisting of 1.4 hollow organic glass tubes arranged on the wall from short to long and then from long to short. Due to the varying lengths and thicknesses of glass tubes, the length of the air column inside the tube is also different, resulting in different natural vibration frequencies for each tube.

2. Principle:

The reason for the sound produced by the flute is the use of the principle of sound resonance. Objects can only produce sound when they vibrate, and each sound has its own frequency. When two objects with the same natural frequency vibrate, the other object vibrates with the maximum amplitude, and this phenomenon is called resonance. This exhibit contains an air column in its organic glass tube. The length of the glass tube varies, and the length of the air column inside the tube naturally varies, resulting in different natural vibration frequencies for each tube.

3. Purpose:

Exhibition items demonstrate the basic principles of wind instrument sound production through pipes of different lengths and diameters. The velocity of gas flowing through pipes of different lengths and diameters has a significant impact on the formation of sound, and the frequency of the sound emitted also varies. By listening to the sound of the flute device, participants can understand the basic principles of resonance phenomenon.
