Auster Experiment - Customization of Science Museum Exhibitions, Campus Community Science Popularization Equipment, Source Manufacturer of Science Exhibitions Description and Introduction of Scientific Principles:
This exhibition items mainly consist of wires and many small magnetic needles, simulating the experiment in which Danish physicist Oster discovered the magnetic effect of electric current. In April 1820, Oster observed the phenomenon of electric wires disturbing magnetic needles and discovered the magnetic effect of current. After in-depth research, he found that the direction of the magnetic field is also related to the direction of the current. Any wire carrying current can generate a magnetic field around it, which is called the magnetic effect of current. After the wires in the exhibition items are powered on, a magnetic field is generated around the wires, causing the small magnetic needle to be subjected to magnetic force, resulting in deflection of the small magnetic needle. The main applications of electromagnetic induction include electromagnetic cranes, electromagnetic relays, electric motors, maglev trains, etc.
