1. Content
The exhibition items consist of a booth, a sound tube, and a rubber hand shaped tapping board. The top and four sides of the booth are randomly distributed with various colored sound pipes, with open openings and some decorative curved closed pipes. The length and thickness of the pronunciation tube vary, presenting an undulating appearance on the table. Set up storage grooves on the booth countertop to store percussion boards. Visitors can pick up the percussion board and tap the mouth of the sound tube to listen to different tones.
2. Principle
Resonance: The pipeline contains an air column, and due to the different lengths and diameters of the pipeline, the volume of the air column inside is also different, resulting in different natural vibration frequencies for each pipeline. When the frequency of air vibration in the environment is consistent or close to the natural frequency of the air column inside the pipeline, resonance occurs. The smaller the volume of the air column inside the pipeline, the higher its natural frequency and pitch; On the contrary, the larger the volume of the air column inside the pipeline, the lower its natural frequency and tone.
3. Purpose
By testing the interaction of sound produced by the sound tube, participants can understand the relationship between the shape of the tube, vibration frequency, and pitch.
