The Huoshan Science Museum is located in Huoshan County, Anhui Province. It is an important battlefield for county-level science popularization education in the western Anhui region, undertaking the important mission of science enlightenment for young people in the county and promoting science popularization for the whole nation. Targeting local primary and secondary schools, Huoshan Science Museum regularly conducts science popularization and learning activities, lectures on scientist stories, and science and technology workshops, becoming the first stop for many Huoshan children to explore science. On weekends and holidays, many parents bring their children to check in, exhibit rotational mechanics, experience sound and light science experiments, and understand abstract mathematical and chemical knowledge in textbooks while having fun.
County level science museums are generally facing funding and exhibition update pressure. Huoshan Science Museum actively collaborates with provincial and municipal science associations to carry out science popularization caravan activities in rural areas, bringing science exhibitions to township schools and filling the gap of insufficient science popularization resources in rural areas. The venue is open to the public for free and implements a reservation system for entry.
