The Science Museum in Longgang District covers an area of 10000 square meters and is planned and arranged according to the process of human cognition, exploration, transformation, and innovation of science and technology. It comprehensively reflects the basic principles and methods of the field of science and technology, the path of scientific exploration, and the development direction of future technology.
The Science Museum in Longgang District has set up five major age exhibition areas: the foundation of science, the prosperity of industry, the path of scientific innovation, the mystery of life, and the dream of the world. Based on the population structure of Longgang District, a scenario based children's science exploration themed Idea Park has been specially set up, and public classrooms such as Curie Cottage, Newton Classroom, Harley Classroom, and Jiuzhangting have been equipped to provide various parent-child science popularization, science popularization classes, science popularization shows, and other public education activities in a timely manner.
More than 300 exhibitions, 80% of which are interactive exhibition items, cover 80% of basic science knowledge points in primary and secondary schools, and also incorporate some cutting-edge technology content. Based on the industrial characteristics of the high-tech industry cluster in Longgang District, interactive exhibition items such as new energy vehicles and electronic communication have been set up. The Southern Institute of Space Science and Technology, located in Longgang District, has specially designed and produced a space station and a Mars base for this museum, and donated spacesuits inside the spacecraft, which is also an example in the science museum exhibition in China.
